thepixelhero: “His name was Gerald of Rivania…” Today I present Gerald of Rivania (based of Geralt of Rivia’s appearance in the first Witcher game). “The enigmatic yet less than sociable top-agent of the Witch Hunters, Gerald of Rivania is best described as a nigh immortal super-mutant monster hunter. Among his many great accomplishments is the fact that he is most likely one of the First Ones (or a close descendant thereof) explaining his agelessness and superior physic. Of course Gerald would have no recollection of this as he had amnesia when he first stumbled into the court Emperor British, nearly 250 years ago. Since then he has risen through the ranks of the Witch Hunters. A known Magus sympathizer  he has tried to focus their talents less on the persecution of maguses and psychics and more on the slaying of monsters, vampires and the remnants Old Ones.  Gerald can also be classified as a mutant, due to his intentional exposure to chemicals, biomids, and ancient plants that would kill any other human being. Ironically, this make many mistake him for a monster, such to the extent that the Baumont family (also Witch Hunters) have vowed to expose Gerald as a vampire.” Gerald is a fairly important character in the global politics of Orbis, and although he is mainly seen on the field, he isn’t afraid to consult world leaders personally as either a diplomat or a mercenary. He’s also the only First One the player will encounter who isn’t an antagonist.

doozybot: I bought both Witcher games a few months ago in a Steam sale and I just started the first one. Geralt’s “strong” stance looks hilarious. Maybe it’s based on some real swordfighting technique or something but I really hope an animator just did that and went “alright looks good” /snorts

Nearly all sexual scenes(besides one in The Witcher 2) are completely optional so one does not have to go through them if they don’t want to. ‘Those naked ladies you can find around there’. Seriously? It’s like where talking about some creepy creatures that is lurking around in the game waiting for when the time is right to pounce at you and scare you off. Really, now Really Although I tend to agree with this, I get the felling that the confessor is talking about the first game. And if people do not like sexual content I really do not recommend the second game, actually the first has less sexual graphic scene but they sure are more stupid. The first one indeed has those sex cards. While looking pretty though, those are shittily implemented as some form of crappy collection mini game. Just&#8230; no. But it can be pretty much ignored completely, heh.  Witcher 2 on the other hand has removed that dumb feature and treated the whole matter more maturely. Besides which, it also has some more severe themes(rape, torture) which are all part of the series&#8217; universe which was established long before the games themselves. Needed? I&#8217;d say yes.
